06:30 AM – Pick-Up from Hotel
Your safari driver-guide will pick you up from your hotel in Diani Beach or Tiwi, then drive inland through scenic countryside towards Shimba Hills National Reserve (approximately 45 minutes from Diani).
Enjoy the cool morning breeze and rolling green hills as you enter this lush tropical forest, known for its unique blend of coastal and upland ecosystems.

Enter Shimba Hills National Reserve
Arrive at Shimba Hills Gate and begin your morning game drive through the park.
The reserve is home to rare sable antelopes, elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, warthogs, baboons, and a wide variety of bird species.
Enjoy panoramic views of the coastal plains and the Indian Ocean from the park’s scenic viewpoints like Elephant Hill and Marere Viewpoint.

Sheldrick Falls Nature Walk
Stretch your legs with a guided nature walk to Sheldrick Falls, a 25-meter-high waterfall hidden in the forest.
Your guide will point out plants, butterflies, and birds along the trail. Enjoy the sound of cascading water and take refreshing photos (swimming is allowed when safe).

Lunch at Shimba Hills Lodge
Drive to the Shimba Hills Lodge, the only tree lodge on Kenya’s Coast, overlooking a forest waterhole.
Enjoy a buffet or à la carte lunch while watching elephants and other wildlife gather near the water below.

Visit Mwaluganje Elephant Sanctuary
After lunch, proceed to the nearby Mwaluganje Elephant Sanctuary, a community-run conservation area bordering Shimba Hills.
Take a scenic game drive through the sanctuary, known for its large elephant population, rolling hills, and Baobab trees.
Your guide will share insights into the local community’s conservation efforts and how they protect wildlife.

Depart for Diani
After an exciting day surrounded by nature and wildlife, begin your return journey back to Diani.
