Arrival at Funzi Bay
Arrive at Bodo village, the mainland jetty opposite Funzi Island. Board a motorized canoe or traditional dhow to cross to Funzi Island, gliding gently through scenic mangrove channels.
Crocodile Canoe Safari on the Ramisi River
Embark on a peaceful canoe ride along the Ramisi River, a beautiful tidal waterway surrounded by mangrove forests.
Spot crocodiles basking on the riverbanks, colorful kingfishers, eagles, herons, and other tropical bird species. Dolphins are occasionally seen at the river mouth.
Visit Funzi Sandbank (Depending on Tide)
If tides allow, stop at the Funzi sandbank, a stunning white-sand beach that appears at low tide — perfect for a refreshing swim and photos with turquoise-blue waters all around.
Visit Funzi Village
After the canoe safari, take a short walk through Funzi fishing village to meet the friendly locals and learn about traditional Swahili coastal life. Your guide will explain the island’s history and the role of fishing and mangroves in the community.
Seafood Lunch on Funzi Island
Enjoy a delicious Swahili-style seafood lunch served at a local restaurant or eco-lodge overlooking the ocean. Dishes typically include crab, fish, coconut rice, vegetables, and tropical fruits, with soft drinks provided.
Relax & Swim
After lunch, relax by the beach, take a swim in the warm waters, or simply enjoy the tranquil island atmosphere before heading back.
Return Cruise to Bodo Village
Board your canoe or dhow for a leisurely return trip through the mangroves to Bodo Jetty.
